General Information Future Use Site Closure Decommissioning Fuel Storage License Termination Community Board |
A License Termination Plan (LTP) is a document that describes how a decommissioned nuclear power plant will meet the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) criteria for termination of its license and release of the site for unrestricted use. Yankee submitted its License Termination Plan to the NRC on November 24, 2003. The LTP was officially approved by the NRC in 2007. The site under the federal license is now reduced to the approximately 2 acres surrounding the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation facility. Yankee has made no decision at this point regarding the future use of the former plant site.
